Facilitate miniaturization using GX packages

Nexperia continues to lead the logic industry with the world's smallest logic package! The new GX package is over 25 percent smaller than the smallest XSON package (suffix GN), previously the world's smallest package. While only 0.8 mm x 0.8 mm x 0.35 mm high, its breakthrough design retains the traditional 0.5 mm pad pitch to allow simplified PCB assembly.

The GX package is a leadless PicoGate package. It houses the same silicon die as larger leadless and leaded PicoGate packages. This ensures that along with the smaller footprint identical electrical performance is assured. Its tiny size saves valuable board real estate, while the 0.5 mm pad pitch allows it to be used in existing 0.5 mm pitch assembly processes. This eliminates the need for costly/complex step-down masks during PCB solder printing.

The package is an ideal choice for leading-edge portable devices such as smart phones where PCB space and low cost assembly is critical. With its larger pads the GX package offers easier component placement as well as improved strength, reliability, and thermal characteristics.
