NPIC shift register based LED drivers are used in I/O expansion applications allowing the use of lower pin-count (and cost) controllers.

NPIC shift register based LED drivers are used in I/O expansion applications allowing the use of lower pin-count (and cost) controllers. The serial output allows cascading providing the potential for 3 controller I/Os to control the state of 16, 24 or more LEDs.

NPIC products are available in standard SO, TSSOP and innovative leadless DQFN packages for PCB space saving. Nexperia’s NPIC shift register products are fully specified from -40 °C to 125 °C.
