Breast Cancer Awareness Month: A Time to Educate, Support, and Empower - Thank You for Your Support!
At our site in Manchester they hosted a “Pink October”. This is a global breast cancer awareness campaign held every October, dedicated to promoting screening and early detection to reduce mortality rates. Since its inception in 1985, Pink October has become a powerful symbol of solidarity and support for those fighting breast cancer.
Throughout October, Nexperia Manchester has been dedicated to raising awareness about breast cancer and fundraising for Breast Cancer Now, a UK research and care charity.
We were proud to offer two Health Awareness Talks on site for colleagues, hosted by external organizations dedicated to cancer awareness, prevention and early detection. The first talk shared signs and symptoms of breast cancer, how to reduce your risk of developing the disease, and how to check yourself; the second talk discussed cancer prevention, early diagnosis and cancer screenings. If you attended either session, we hope you found it insightful.
Alongside these valuable Health Awareness Talks, colleagues dedicated time and effort into proactively raising funds for Breast Cancer Now through various initiatives.
‘Wear it Pink Day’ took place for an entire week to enable our employees to choose a day that suited them to wear a touch of pink to work and donate to the charity.
As an employer, we believe it is important to support and raise awareness about breast cancer, particularly for our female employees. It is a best practice to ensure that everyone is informed and empowered to take charge of their health.
