Motor drives convert electrical power into controlled motion, from compact low-voltage stepper and brushed or brushless DC stages to high-power three phase inverter platforms. Designs are increasingly shaped by higher efficiency targets and tighter EMC limits alongside smaller and more thermally constrained form factors. There is also a growing use of digital control for smoother torque, quieter operation and better diagnostics. Typical voltage ratings span from low ( < 48 V), medium (48 - 400 V) and high (> 400 V), with a focus on performance, robustness and efficiency.
