Our commitment
Nexperia is committed to responsible sourcing practices, ensuring that substances of mineral origin used in its products are not sourced from regions where such minerals are traded to finance armed groups, promote human rights abuses, or support corruption and money laundering.
As a member of the Responsible Minerals Initiative (RMI) since our founding in 2017, we publicly commit to responsible sourcing as detailed in our Code of Conduct.
Minerals in scope
Our responsible minerals sourcing program applies to vendors providing materials or products that contain in-scope substances incorporated into final products sold under the Nexperia brand.
Nexperia's approach is aligned with applicable legal requirements and internationally recognized due-diligence frameworks, in particular the OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Mineral Supply Chains.
Based on legal requirements, product relevance, and customer interest, Nexperia tracks the following minerals using RMI-developed reporting templates:
| Minerals | Reporting Template |
| Tantalum, tin, tungsten, gold ("3TGs") | Conflict Minerals Reporting Template (CMRT) |
| Cobalt, copper, nickel | Extended Minerals Reporting Template (EMRT) |
| Aluminum, bismuth, silicon, silver, titanium, zinc | Additional Minerals Reporting Template (AMRT) |
CMRT covers tin, tungsten, tantalum, and gold (3TGs) and is the established industry reporting standard used to meet mandatory conflict-minerals disclosure obligations under U.S. SEC Rule 13p-1 (Form SD) and the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation, which require companies to conduct due diligence and report on the sourcing of 3TG minerals.
EMRT extends responsible-sourcing due diligence to additional minerals associated with human-rights risks in the supply chain. Cobalt, in particular, has been linked to child labor and unsafe working conditions in artisanal mining. Copper and nickel were added to the EMRT in April 2025, reflecting the industry's expanding scope of responsible sourcing. While the EMRT also covers materials such as mica, lithium, and natural graphite, these materials are not relevant to Nexperia's product portfolio.
AMRT is a flexible reporting framework that can accommodate any mineral. Nexperia has selected the minerals listed above based on their presence in our products and customer demand for transparency; this scope may expand as stakeholder requirements evolve. As no binding regulation or fully established industry reporting standard yet exists for these materials, supplier-reported data remains limited and inconsistent, reflecting the early stage of industry-wide reporting practices. Nexperia actively engages with suppliers and industry initiatives to support progressive improvement of data quality and reliability.
Our due diligence approach
Nexperia has implemented a Responsible Minerals Assurance Process aligned with:
- The OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Mineral Supply Chains
- RMI tools and industry-standard practices
If non-conformant smelters or refiners are identified, Nexperia takes all reasonable steps to ensure their removal from the supply chain. Our goal is to have only suppliers that report smelters and refiners with 'Conformant' status.
OECD 5-step framework
Our due diligence process follows the OECD's 5-step framework:
-
Management systems Adopt due-diligence policies and build internal capacity to implement them
-
Identify risks Review supply chain information to identify red flags
-
Manage risks Report findings to senior management and improve internal controls
-
Audit Conduct independent third-party audits at key supply chain control points
-
Report Publicly report on due diligence policies and risk management
Supplier requirements
Responsible sourcing verification is embedded in our supplier onboarding procedure. As a prerequisite for vendor code creation, Nexperia Procurement ensures that the supplier signs the Supplier Code of Conduct, formally declaring their commitment to comply with its principles and requirements.
Suppliers of in-scope substances are required to:
- Adopt a policy and conduct due diligence on the sourcing and chain of custody of in-scope substances
- Provide Nexperia with reporting templates (CMRT, EMRT, AMRT) upon request
- If non-acceptable smelters or refiners (SoRs) are identified in their declarations, take all reasonable measures to eliminate these SoRs from their supply chains in a timely manner
Regulatory framework
Nexperia B.V. and its subsidiaries have no direct obligations under the U.S. Dodd-Frank Act (Section 1502). However, we maintain a comprehensive responsible minerals sourcing program to support our customers and to fulfill our sustainability commitments.
For the 2025 calendar year, Nexperia Germany GmbH has come into scope of the EU Conflict Minerals Regulation for the first time. The EU Conflict Minerals Report for the 2025 reporting year is available for download below.
Reporting templates
Nexperia provides transparency regarding the use of conflict minerals in our supply chain through RMI-developed reporting templates:
The AMRT (Additional Minerals Reporting Template) is available upon request. Templates are regularly updated. For specific inquiries, please contact your Nexperia representative.
Grievance mechanism
In accordance with EU Conflict Minerals Regulation requirements, Nexperia maintains a grievance mechanism allowing any interested party—including external stakeholders and whistleblowers—to voice concerns regarding the circumstances of extraction, trade, and handling of minerals in our supply chain.
